Zimulti (rimonabant) is used to help people diagnosed with obesity to lose weight and maintain it. This drug works by affecting your brain reducing food cravings. The company producing this medicine also claims it can help with smoking cessation, as Zimulti affects the same brain circuits that cause nicotine craving. However, that claim has not been officially confirmed yet. As most other medicines Zimulti can cause side effects, such as anxiety, irritability, sleep problems, nausea, dry mouth, and anorexia, but they are unlikely to develop into more serious ones. Nevertheless, if any of the side effects you developed start to interfere with your everyday life activities, make sure you talk to your health care provider about them. Before starting your treatment you will need to talk to your health care provider and discuss any medical conditions you have that may potentially affect the success of your treatment. The following ones must be reported: liver problems, impaired kidney function and a history of epilepsy in case you have any. Also report any drugs you are taking to prevent interactions from occurring and make sure your treatment is safe and efficient.
